It was a dream week for Southern Nevada Junior Golf Association member Charlotte Halstead in April 2025. First, she competed in the prestigious Drive, Chip and Putt at Augusta National before she returned home to clinch a spot in the Uswing Mojing Junior World Championship with a victory at the Boulder City Junior Amateur.

The trip to Augusta National, home of the Masters, was something special.

“It was amazing just looking around and just everything about it,” Halstead said. “It was very well maintained and organized. The greens were perfect. It was like putting on concrete and everything about Augusta was just amazing. I learned how to play under pressure. I learned how to train and focus. I learned a lot from just that one experience.”

Qualifying for Junior World and winning also meant a lot to Halstead.

“I got really excited when I won to go to the junior world to be there again,” Halstead said. “My goal is to go there and be top three or top five.”

The Uswing Mojing Junior World Championship is July 5-10 in San Diego, Calif.
