It was a huge couple days at Reflection Bay Golf Club at Lake Las Vegas for the SNJGA. Lilly DeNunzio, Mason Snyder and Brett Sawaia from the SNJGA qualified to play in the USGA Junior Amateur, arguably the nation’s top junior golf event. Also qualifying was Brynn Kort, a Coronado High golfer.
Sawaia, a UNLV commit, and DeNunzio earned low medalist honors.

“I’m definitely super-happy with today,” DeNunzio said following the round. “It just shows that everything is going well and the hard work is paying off.”
Sawaia, who helped lead Coronado High to the men’s golf title in May, is ready for the national event.
“This was my last chance to qualify for the U.S. Junior Amateur so it’s nice to get the monkey off my back,” he said. “I’m playing well. The opportunity to play in a USGA championship is great and it’s going to do a lot for my confidence as well.”
