Raegan Williams is now a member of the Delaware State University Women’s Golf team, an honor earned through hard work, talent, dedication, and with a nod to membership in the Southern Nevada Junior Golf Association.

Also helping her on her journey is the Bill and Susan Walters Las Vegas Golf Hall of Fame Scholarship. Williams earned the award and $10,000 to help with college costs.

“It means a lot, and it is going to help me through college because when I was interviewing for it, I wasn’t sure how I was going to pay for room and board,” Williams said. “Going out of state is very expensive and it was something I was worried about. I got a job this summer to pay for it, but with the scholarship and the help of my golf scholarship, I don’t have to pay for anything at school, which takes a lot of stress off me and my family. It’s very helpful and very awesome.”

Williams had a weighted GPA of 4.6117 at the time of the scholarship process, and besides being an accomplished golfer, she was a member of Junior Air Force Officers in Training program (ROTC) and other extracurricular activities at Rancho High School. She will major in Mechanical Engineering at Delaware State.

She was described as a high-achieving student and a “remarkable person” by Rancho High administrators. Those traits shined through during the scholarship interview, even if Williams was a bit worried heading into the process.

“I am really proud of accomplishing all the things I had to do to get the scholarship because I was doing a lot of stuff leading up to it,” Williams said. “I am proud of how I talked to everybody in the interview because interviews make me nervous sometimes and that one definitely made me nervous.”

The SNJGA and Las Vegas Golf Hall of Fame are committed to helping the next generation succeed. In combination, the organizations awarded $60,000 in 2025. Stay tuned to this website for additional spotlights.
