U.S. Kids Partnership Offers Excellence for Younger Golfers
Part of our charter here at the Southern Nevada Junior Golf Association is to be the hub of junior golf and help juniors and their parents find the best learning and playing options. The SNJGA has a very high quality tournament schedule for older players, but we also now have a partnership with the nationally-recognized U.S. Kids Association for our members from 6-11 years old.
Southern Nevada PGA of America professional Paul Brown oversees the U.S. Kids program in Southern Nevada and it offers a quality local schedule and other benefits.
The benefits are plentiful for kids playing this tournament schedule. It is the perfect way to introduce tournament golf to the child. Scaled courses and individual age groups make it fun to play and meet new friends. Plus regional and national level tournaments are also available as kids progress.
About the National organization
U.S. Kids Golf, LLC was started in 1996 as a solution to the problem its founder, Dan Van Horn, experienced when trying to get his children, ages 5 and 8, into golf.
“They were enthusiastic at first, but their interest quickly dropped. They weren’t having fun,” Van Horn recalls. At the time, I didn’t realize that cutoffs and junior clubs were so heavy; they were not only hurting my kids’ swings, but also their desire to play.”
That’s when the former golf professional and engineer began developing Ultralight kids clubs, which were designed to be 25% lighter than adult and most junior clubs, and he formed the company, U.S. Kids Golf. Since then, parents and pros around the world have seen the incredible difference that lightweight and correctly fit clubs have made in their young player’s swing and enthusiasm for the game. Today, the company is the world’s leading provider of equipment.
