Southern Nevada Junior Golf Association president Tim Quinn knows the annual “Dollars for Scholars” fundraising drive creates the foundation for what might be a life-changing moment for a future scholarship recipient.

“I just spent time today talking to one of our scholarship recipients and this is the kind of thing that makes such a positive impact in a kid’s life,” Quinn said. “It gives people a chance to change a kid’s life and have a good time doing it.”

Quinn also knows that the “Dollars for Scholars” drive wouldn’t be possible without the generosity of Las Vegas golf courses, professionals, managers and owners.

“Dollars for Scholars is a great way that golf courses show support for our junior golf program by offering our adults a way to get a good deal on some golf while at the same time supporting scholarships,” Quinn said. “None of this would work if the courses would not give us the rounds of golf to use for the program. The generosity is very much appreciated by our board, members, and parents.”

The annual fundraiser– proceeds go into the SNJGA’s Charlie Teel Scholarship Fund–goes live Nov. 1 and will feature nine different courses and three different packages of three courses each. In 2024, the SNJGA awarded $40,000 in scholarships in conjunction with the Las Vegas Golf Hall of Fame. In addition, the HOF awarded the $10,000 Bill and Susan Walters LV Golf Hall of Fame scholarship.
