Southern Nevada Junior Golf Association member Blake Schaper, of Boulder City High School, has committed to play golf at South Dakota State beginning in fall of 2021. Schaper is the son of Andy Schaper, who oversees both Boulder Creek Golf Club and Boulder City Municipal Golf Course.
“We are happy Blake has decided to join the Jackrabbits! Blake is a great young man who will represent us well in the classroom and in the community,” said head coach Casey VanDamme. “He has continued to get better each year and has the drive, work ethic, and commitment to be a top-notch player for us. Blake has also demonstrated the ability to shoot low scores and we are sure the best is yet to come.”
Schaper will join fellow Boulder City golfer Lani Potter, who plays for the women’s team at South Dakota State.
“I committed to South Dakota State because I felt that it was the best place for me to grow as a person and a golfer,” Schaper said in a BoulderCityNews.com article. “I feel that South Dakota State has all the right tools for me to become the best golfer I can be.”
